Sono passate da poco le 22 quando, per la felicità di tutti i social workers presenti (parecchi, il concerto è sold out), i Glasvegas attaccano con Geraldine. Fa caldo, e James Allan, con la sua canottiera sbracciatissima, occhiali scuri e ciuffo, somiglia un po' al Joe Strummer dei primi anni '80, e scusate se è poco. Le grezze pareti del Circolo degli Artisti sembrano contenere a fatica tutta l'energia dei cori da stadio di inni istantanei come It's My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry, Fuck You It's Over (un'inaspettato regalo dall'EP di Natale, sebbene il testo non si possa definire esattamente festivo...), Flowers And Football Tops e Go Square Go, ed è proprio lì, nei grandi spazi, che presto, prestissimo ti immaggini di veder suonare questi quattro ragazzi delle Lowlands. Anche sul palco, come sul disco d'esordio, la sostanziosa batteria di Caroline Mckay sostiene a meraviglia le canzoni, che mantengono inalterata tutta la loro intensità. Giusto il tempo di ringraziare, con un perentorio "I fucking love you, Roma", in perfetto stile classe operaia di Glasgow, e si chiude con Daddy's Gone (e come, sennò), con tutto il pubblico a cantare, al punto che il nostro James sembra quasi commuoversi di tanta partecipazione.
Non c'è che dire: l'impatto dal vivo con la band scozzese è notevole, e mantiene tutte le aspettative di quanti, e sono numerosi, considerano i Glasvegas la rivelazione dello scorso anno.
