POST-IT: GLI OASIS SI SCIOLGONO? NO. ANZI, SI

Qualche giorno fa, il Sun, popolare testata inglese, riportava la probabile e prossima scissione degli Oasis a causa dell'ennesima lite tra Liam e Noel, anticipando che il concerto in programma a Milano il 30 agosto sarebbe stato l'ultimo nella storia della band di Manchester. La notizia è stata ovviamente ripresa dai blog di mezzo mondo, salvo poi essere più o meno smentita (l'autorevole The Guardian l'aveva liquidata come "il solito business" dei fratelli Gallagher). Ieri sera, invece, pochi istanti prima di salire sul palco del Rock En Seine di Parigi, i due hanno di nuovo avuto un alterco, questa volta piuttosto violento, venendo persino alle mani. Pare addirittura che Liam abbia distrutto la preziosa chitarra del fratello. Ci sarebbe anche un testimone, la malcapitata cantautrice scozzese Amy MacDonald, anche lei nella line-up del festival parigino, che sulla sua pagina di Twitter ha scritto testualmente: "Oasis cancelled again with one minute to stage time!!! Liam smashesd Noels guitar, huuuge fight!". Fatto sta che, sul MySpace ufficiale degli Oasis è comparso un post, a firma Noel Gallagher, nel quale il musicista annuncia, con tristezza e con gran sollievo, di aver lasciato il gruppo, e che non importa cosa dirà la gente, ma lui semplicemente non può andare avanti così con Liam neanche un altro giorno. Noel inoltre si scusa con tutti i fan che avevano acquistato i biglietti per lo show di ieri a Parigi, e per le date previste per questa sera al Rock Am See Festival di Costanza, in Germania, e per domani all'I-Day Urban Festival di Milano, che a questo punto sembrano definitivamente cancellate. Certo, non si tratta assolutamente della prima lotta interna ai Gallagher Brothers, ma stavolta le cose potrebbero essersi spinte oltre il punto di non ritorno.

ASCOLTI: A BRIEF HISTORY OF LOVE/THE BIG PINK

DOMINOS/THE BIG PINK

Non c'è che dire: a scuola, la lezione sul Brit Pop i Big Pink l'hanno imparata proprio bene. Nell'album d'esordio della band inglese, infatti, si distinguono riferimenti neanche troppo velati agli Stone Roses, agli Oasis, ai Verve, sapientemente amalgamati e rielaborati con una punta di suoni elettronici. Un'operazione che ricorda, seppur in modo più concreto e meno eccentrico, i lavori dei dei Kasabian. The Brief History Of Love ha un andamento piuttosto coerente: l'intro deciso di Crystal Visions, la convincente At War With The Sun, il nuovo singolo Dominos (un potenziale inno, col suo ritornello "these girls fall like dominos") e le già note hit Velvet e Too Young Too Love, perfettamente inserite nel contesto, la rumorosa Frisk e la ballata Love In Vain, forse il brano più riuscito. Un disco che di certo non brilla per originalità, e che nulla toglie e nulla aggiunge al panorama musicale britannico, ma che tutto sommato si lascia ascoltare con piacere.

MUSICA: DIG OUT YOUR SOUL/OASIS

OK, lo ammetto, ho un problema con gli Oasis. Quando ho cominciato ad ascoltarli, nel '94, quando ancora di MTV Europe ce n'era una sola, trasmetteva via satellite e mandava musica buona anche di giorno, mi piacevano parecchio: Supersonic era fortissima, Live Forever bella da morire, e Definitely Maybe un debutto col botto.
(What's the Story) Morning Glory? fu una conferma sugli stessi livelli, non c'è che dire, ma già da Be Here Now ho iniziato a trovarli noiosi e ripetitivi, fatta eccezione per qualche felice episodio isolato (The Importance Of Being Idle). Quindi, sono sincero, non mi aspettavo una grande rivoluzione nemmeno da questo nuovo Dig Out Your Soul, che intendiamoci, non è affatto male, anzi: ci sono alcuni pezzi notevoli, come Falling Down, (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady, Soldier On, tutti caratterizzati da atmosfere decisamente psichedeliche. Alla fine, però, persiste imperterrita quella sensazione di intercambiabilità: ho l'impressione che, scambiando uno qualsiasi di questi brani con uno qualunque di un altro album a caso della discografia dei fratelli Gallagher, non se ne accorgerebbe nessuno, ma questa è solo la mia opinione, il mio problema...
