Vatti un po' a fidare degli ecologisti: sembra che Chris Martin, leader dei Coldplay, noto anche per le sue campagne eco-solidal-vegetariane, e sua moglie, l'attrice Gwyneth Paltrow, abbiano acquistato la terza casa nella stessa via di Londra. La proprietà è destinata, a quanto pare, ad essere trasformata in una lussuosa dependace, per ospitare lo staff della coppia (le prime due abitazioni, poste esattamente sull'altro lato della strada, invece, erano state unificate per ottenere una magione da ben 33 stanze). La notizia in sè non avrebbe nulla di strano, se non la solita megalomania delle celebrità, ma c'è dell'altro: i due, infatti, vorrebbero sostituire la palizzata in legno che ciroconda gli edifici con un muro tecnologico alto oltre tre metri, scatenando così le proteste dei residenti nella strada in questione. "E' da anni che sopportiamo i loro lavori edilizi. Adesso ci mancava anche la parete. Ci opporremo, stanno trasformando una casa vittoriana in una fortezza. Hanno anche fatto tagliare degli alberi per poter parcheggiare le loro auto vistose" pare abbia detto un vicino di casa Martin/Paltrow: tutte rigorosamente euro 5, si suppone, le appariscenti vetture... Che il buon Chris e la bella Gwyn si battano contro la deforestazione, sì, ma solo quella causata dagli altri?

POST-IT: THE PINEAPPLE THIEF/SOMEONE HERE IS MISSING

I Pineapple Thief hanno un rapporto molto diretto con i loro fan (più che altro con quelli del Regno Unito, a dire il vero, dato che da queste parti, purtroppo, non si vedono praticamente mai), tanto da tenerli informati, oltre che tramite il sito ufficiale, anche mediante dei post su Facebook. E proprio attraverso il social network, hanno reso noto che il nuovo album, Someone Here Is Missing, è pronto. Il disco, che uscirà il 5 aprile per la Kscope, sarà composto da nove pezzi (un brano è stato depennato all'ultimo momento) per un totale di 46 minuti, e la copertina verrà disegnata nientemeno che dagli Storm Studios di Storm Thorgersonw, colui che ha ideato le cover dei dischi più famosi dei Pink Floyd, incluso The Dark Side Of The Moon, oltre ad aver lavorato con i Led Zeppelin, e più recentemente con Muse e Mars Volta.
Inoltre, la band di Yeovil ha appena ripubblicato l'album Little Man del 2006, il primo di una serie che vedrà l'uscita, in versione remixata e rimasterizzata, dei lavori più importanti del gruppo.
