LA CANZONE DEL GIORNO: MEMORIES OF SWEAT/HOLOGRAMS

ALBUM: HOLOGRAMS (2012)

LA CANZONE DEL GIORNO: MYSTERY COLORS/ASTRONAUTS, ETC.

You had me
Running from the real thing
I didn’t even know the difference
Now i’m feeling so betrayed
We’d spoken
Just the other evening
Outside of someone else’s window
Now I’m feeling so betrayed

Your history
Is coming back to educate me
To put me out of place and take me
To another time
We’re spending
Far too much attention driving
All of our attentions away
From each other

Look into the center of the spinning wheel
Tell me what you feel
Tell me what you feel
Look into the center of the spinning wheel
Tell me what you feel
Look into the center of the spinning wheel
Tell me what you feel
Tell me what you feel
Look into the center of the spinning wheel
Tell me what you feel

New flirtations
And other forms of recreation
I’m in love with foreign places
I’m in love
Mystery colors
And things we cannot tell each other
Locked inside our heaven’s cupboards
Pretend that I’m asleep

Look into the center of the spinning wheel
Tell me what you feel
Tell me what you feel
Look into the center of the spinning wheel
Tell me what you feel
Look into the center of the spinning wheel
Tell me what you feel
Tell me what you feel
Look into the center of the spinning wheel
Tell me what you feel

LA CANZONE DEL GIORNO: CHAINED/THE XX

I watched you breathe in
And I wished you’d stop
Only for long enough
Long enough

It’s hard to say

Separate or combine
I ask you
One last time
Did I hold you too tight
Did I not let enough light in

If a feeling appears
If your mind should sway
It’s not a secret you should keep
I won’t let you slip away

We used to be closer than this
We used to be closer than this
We used to get closer than this
Is it something you miss
We used to be closer than this
We used to be closer than this
We used to get closer than this
Is it something you miss

Winged or chained
I ask you
Would you have stayed
Did I hold you too tight
Did I not let enough light in

LA CANZONE DEL GIORNO: THE BASE/PAUL BANKS

Julian Plenti è morto? Lunga vita a Paul Banks.

What I drop today
Could we recognize the shape
I spoke to the base
And the base says we wait
So I smoke an old cigar
While they're trying some things
See I spoke to the base
And the base says we wait
The base says we're safe

Now and then can I see the truth above the lies
Now and then oh I feel you're truly amidst the tides
That's why

When I walk today
It's in silence and in rage
Can a man turn the page
While he's trying to amaze (any other)
So I hold my arms apart
And hope to buy you anything (any other)
See I spoke to the base
And the base says we're there
The base says we care

Now and then I can see the truth above the lies
Now and then oh I feel those beauties it's like they're lights
They're like street lights
They tunnel on and on
Into these deep nights
Where the lights circle on
So steep, so steep, so steep, so steep, so steep
(I count the falling stars)
So steep, so steep, so steep, so steep, so steep
(I count the falling stars)
I will not be staying long

Now and then I can see the truth above the lies
Now and then can see those beauties that shine my eyes
That's right

LA CANZONE DEL GIORNO: PLAGUE/CRYSTAL CASTLES

I need you pure
I need you clean
Don't try to enlighten me
Power to misconstrue
What have they done to you

Infants in infantry
Rewrite their history
Uproot their colony
You're ripe for harvesting
Virgin cells to penetrate
Too premature to permeate
They can't elucidate
Never thought I was the enemy

I am the plague
I am the plague

They fake sincerity
Thy gifts don't give to me
Now you've been annointed
They've been asking for it

Infants in infantry
Rewrite their history
Uproot their colony
You're ripe for harvesting
Virgin cells to penetrate
Too premature to permeate
They can't elucidate
Never thought i was the enemy

I am the plague
I am the plague

I need you pure
I need you clean
I need you pure
I need you clean
I am the plague
I am the plague

LA CANZONE DEL GIORNO: HEAVY IS AS HEAVY DOES/MENOMENA

Heavy all the branches
Hanging from my fucked up family’s tree
And heavy was my father
A stoek man of pride and privacy

And I don’t care much for wishful thinking
Is heavy as I breathe
Because I don’t believe in second chances
Is heavy as I live

As powerfull as a man he was
Pride my father never was of me

I did it for survival
But i look like the asshole anyaway
You eat up all my breadcrumbs
Now I’m lost alone inside your cage
Among six billion people
I want the ones who never won and meet
I’m not one for religion
But I can’t see to ditch this energy

And I don’t care much for wishful thinking
Is heavy as I breathe
Because I don’t believe in second chances
Is heavy as I live
And I don’t care much for wishful thinking
I can’t breathe

Heavy all the branches

LA CANZONE DEL GIORNO: YET AGAIN/GRIZZLY BEAR

Yet again we're the only ones
No surprise, this is often how it's done
Lately it's about all I can take
I will but a man did more this break

Shout with another cry
I'm small but I can keep track
Too soon everyone just step away
I'm sure this isn't the last take

Take it all in stride
Speak, don't confide
We barely have a case
It's done before we try
It's darkened and by night
A desert in deface

Keep score, even playing feels this game
I know when all said are the same
If I could I would leave it all be
No chance to move backwards and see

Take it all in stride
Speak, don't confide
We barely have a case
It's done before we try
It's darkened and by night
A desert in deface
Take it all in stride
Speak, don't confide
We barely have a case
It's done before we try
It's darkened and by night
A desert in deface

LA CANZONE DEL GIORNO: DAY FOUR/BLOC PARTY

It’s in the trees
It’s in the leaves
This time I know what
That I’ll stay clear
Anything it gives
Anything it gives it will take back
This city is here for you

My life, much long
What I know who owns
It’s running out
Raise I, stay brave
But I know who owns
It will return

I found there
Rising from me
From my fingers
And all my mouth
If you’re ever lonely
If you are alone and stay that way
The c-c-city is here for you

My life, much long
What I know
It’s running out
Raise it, stay brave
But I know, it will return
On the fourth day
On the fourth day
On the fourth day
On day four

LA CANZONE DEL GIORNO: LAURA/BAT FOR LASHES

You say that they've all left you behind
Your heart broken, the poverty died
Drape your arms around me and softly say
Can we dance upon the tables again?

When your smile is so wide and your heels are so high
You can't cry
Get your glad rags on and let's sing along
To that lonely song

You're the train that crashed my heart
You're the glitter in the dark
Laura you're more than a superstar
And in this horror show
I've got to tell you so
Laura you're more than a superstar

You say that you're stuck in a pale blue dream
And your tears feel hard on my bed sheets
Drape your arms around me and softly say
Can we dance upon the tables again?

When your smile is so wide and your heels are so high
You can't cry
Get your glad rags on and let's sing along
To that lonely song

You're the train that crashed my heart
You're the glitter in the dark
Laura you're more than a superstar
You'll be famous for longer than them
Your name is tattooed on every boy's skin
Laura you're more than a superstar

You're the train that crashed my heart
You're the glitter in the dark
Laura you're more than a superstar
And in this old horror show
I've got to let you know
Laura you're more than a superstar
You're more than a superstar
