Today a man was taken from his apartment at the New Jersey Shore, and arrested under suspicion of entrapment of a wild animal. Police from forced entry discovered a caged leopard in the building. The fully grown feline was said to be surprisingly domesticated by zoological experts who gave her a thorough examination before preparing her for relocation. A large crowd has gathered outside to watch the beautiful creature, and the giant cage was lowered slowly onto the street by a crane. From here, the leopard was transferred into the back of a truck for it's journey ahead. A startled onlooker said, it's extraordinary to think that any human being could have lived in such close quarters with such a dangerous animal. Police are saying that the captive was simply besotted with the creature, and barely left her side. It's alleged that he hunted her in the wild and expertly forged documents to facilitate her illegal export to the United States of America. The incident has already created much controversy, and is now likely to lead to a major international investigation into the life of the man who stole a leopard.

Dai fan per i fan: da questo sito si può scaricare gratuitamente, in diversi formati, il filmato del concerto dei Radiohead dello scorso anno a Praga, realizzato proprio da alcuni degli spettatori presenti quella sera. La stessa band ha collaborato al progetto, donando i master audio.

POST-IT: (INTER) ATTIVITÀ (RI) CREATIVE

Interpol ed Arcade Fire interattivi. La band di New York ha registrato uno showcase per la serie POV di Pichtfork, suonando 4 brani: Lights, Summer Well, Barricade e Take You On A Cruise. Per la cronaca, POV sta per point of view, ed infatti è possibile giocare a fare il regista scegliendo tra 6 angolazioni differenti.
Gli Arcade Fire, invece, hanno presentato The Wilderness Downtown, un innovativo esperimento video per il singolo We Used To Wait, diretto dal regista Chris Milk, che porta la musica della formazione canadese direttamente a casa vostra, provare per credere.

POST-IT: STANLEY DONWOOD A ROMA

Il prossimo 21 ottobre si inaugura la prima esposizione romana dedicata all'artista che ha ideato tutti i progetti grafici che hanno accompagnato la musica dei Radiohead (spesso in collaborazione con Thom Yorke, celato sotto lo pseudonimo di Tchock), da The Bends in poi: Stanely Donwood. La mostra, intitolata Red Maze, si terrà presso la galleria Mondo Bizzarro, ed andrà avanti sino al 21 di dicembre.

POST-IT: AMANDA PALMER, I RADIOHEAD E L'UKULELE MAGICO

Amanda Palmer, voce dei Dresden Dolls, ha pubblicato un album di cover di brani dei Radiohead, suonati principalmente con l'ukulele... altro che vuvuzelas!
La copertina del disco, poi, realizzata in stile hawaiano anni '50, è davvero uno spasso.

Qualche aggiornamento sull'imminente ritorno della band di New York City: l'album n°4, che s'intitolerà semplicemnte Interpol, uscirà a metà settembre. Nel frattempo, in vista del tour internazionale che sta per prendere il via, entrano a far parte del gruppo il bassista Dave Pajo (ex Tortoise e Zwan), che sostituisce il dimissionario Carlos Dengler (il quale ha comunque preso parte alla registrazione del nuovo disco, prima di lasciare), ed il tastierista dei Secret Machines, Brandon Curtis.

Terzo album in poco più di un anno per gli Eels: il prossimo 24 di agosto, infatti, uscirà Tomorrow Morning, terzo capitolo della trilogia iniziata la scorsa estate con Hombre Lobo, e proseguita all'inizio dell'anno con End Times. I ragazzi ci hanno preso gusto.

Un nuovo (super) gruppo, ed un album, intitolato The Place We Ran From, presentato come un film: il regista è Gary Lightbody degli Snow Patrol, tra i protagonisti Peter Buck dei R.E.M. e Richard Colburn dei Belle & Sebastian, con dei cameo di Tom Smith (Editors) e Zooey DeSchanel (She & Him). POST-IT: ARCADE FIRE/THE SUBURBS & MONTH OF MAY

L'avevano annunciato con una cartolina (l'uscita di un EP in vinile 12"), ed ora gli Arcade Fire mettono in streaming sul loro sito ufficiale delle clip di 30 secondi dei due nuovi brani in questione, The Suburbs, e Month Of May. Di per sè, in tempi in cui ormai il download libero e gratuito (e per intero) dei nuovi singoli è consuetudine, non è una gran notizia, ma il modo in cui la band canadese invita ad ascoltare la sua nuova musica è piuttosto divertente: si tratta infatti di un widget da far ruotare col mouse, come una sorta di giradischi virtuale. Si può far girare il disco anche al contrario, ma non c'è traccia di eventuali messaggi satanici...

POST-IT: THOM YORKE & ATOMS FOR PEACE

ATOMS FOR PEACE

Atoms For Peace: si chiamerà così il supergruppo di Thom Yorke, che comprende Flea dei Red Hot Chili Peppers, il produttore Nigel Godrich, il batterista Joey Waronker ed il polistrumentista Mauro Refosco. Il nome riprende il titolo di uno dei brani che compongono il disco solista di Yorke, The Eraser, che costituisce la gran parte del repertorio della band fresca di nomina. Il battesimo è avvenuto mediante un post sul Dead Air Space, il sito ufficiale dei Radiohead, contestualmente all'annuncio di un mini tour americano.

POST-IT: HOLE/SAMANTHA

SAMANTHA/HOLE

Salvo ulteriori rinvii, il prossimo 27 aprile uscirà Nobody's Daughter, l'album solista di Courtney Love atteso da anni, e che strada facendo si è trasformato nel ritorno degli Hole, seppure con una band rinnovata. Il disco, al quale hanno collaborato anche Linda Perry e Billy Corgan, sarà anticipato dal singolo Samatha.
